The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG)
DCLG was created on 5 May 2006 with a powerful remit to promote community cohesion and equality, as well as responsibility for housing, urban regeneration, planning and local government. The DCLG is the government department responsible for the Building Regulations and all the relevant regulations and related guidance material, such as the Approved Documents, can be downloaded from its website.

The Carbon Trust is a Government-sponsored source of advice and information, most of it free, on energy efficiency techniques and technology. The Carbon Trust helps business and the public sector to cut carbon dioxide emissions and capture the commercial potential of low-carbon technologies.
