Welcome to the Electrical Energy Efficiency Scheme
The Electrical Energy Efficiency Scheme is a Competent Person Scheme developed by the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) for firms that carry out electrical installation work in buildings other than dwellings e.g. offices, factories, hospitals, leisure centres, hostels, schools, shops etc. in England and Wales.
The Electrical Energy Efficiency Scheme has been authorised by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) for firms that install lighting, electrical heating and controls and that wish to self-certify that their work complies with the Building Regulations, in particular the new Part L - Conservation of Fuel and Power.
This site provides you with all the information you need to know about Part L, including:
- How to become a Competent Person registered with the Electrical Energy Efficiency Scheme
- Direct access to the essential documents
- Links to other useful sites and sources of information
And, once you are registered as a Competent Person:
- An electronic system for reporting your work to local authorities.
